Restoration of a Farmhouse –360 sq.m San Casciano (Florence)
Phorography: Mario Chiemello

The construction work focuses entirely upon the total architectural and functional recovery of a completely ruined rural building located in one of the most prestigious areas of the Tuscan countryside. The philosophy of this particular architectural intervention aims to safeguard the residual and yet typical elements of rural architecture and to underline them through a contemporary architectural style that highlights the new constructive additions or modifications without falling into historical falsehood. The materials used are essentially wood, stone and corten steel. Particular emphasis has been given to the type of doors and windows which, through the use of large mirrored iron frames, have allowed the maximum enhancement of the environmental context even from inside the building.
